Hello, I'm Shane Yeoh

I like doing things.

Now, I'm running General Memory. The idea is to be the biographer and archivist of every individual, community and organisation in the world. We're starting with a bespoke luxury service where we spend hours understanding a client's life stories and then transform them into unique and beautiful artefacts designed to last generations.

Currently learning: Organisational theory, mechanistic interpretability, how to do a smoother muay thai switch kick, how to not kill my bonsai.

Projects:

  • Second Orders - a podcast on what happens after the future
  • Ergo - a fitness tracker for your worldview and values
  • Mirrur - a website to take personality quizzes and share your results with friends

What I've done with my time

Studied law. Preferred building and selling things. Went into tech.

Joined a startup, Affinidi, something to make the cross-border patient journey a lot more pleasant. I learnt a lifetime's worth of product craft and still got to wear many other hats. Sat across the table from patients, medical concierges and large healthcare groups.

Then I handled the build and migration of enterprise software and piloted AI integrations at ComfortDelgro, a regional transportation and logistics company. Complex systems, complex stakeholders, lots of negotiation.

Next, I helped make digital news media products more fun at The Straits Times, Singapore's newspaper of record. Figured out where AI really matters to consumers and fell in love with staring at data to make sense of things.
